I remember why I love Barcelona

Having just spent the last 5 days there I have fallen in love with it all over again. I had however forgotten how much the guys like to ogle girls! But hey as long as its harmless...

I flew over to Barcelona for Uyen's birthday celebrations. We had a wonderful few days, the weather was absolutely prefect (especially after London), the sun was shining, the sky was blue and it was warm, really warm.

Flying in late on Thursday we had a few drinks at a bar, until it closed, then back at the apartment.

Friday began with brunch followed by shopping. I lasted all of half an hour before I was tired of it, so Josh, Gabby and I wandered around the city in the general direction of La Sagrada Familia, Josh and I had both been before but it was a Gabby's first visit. Josh and I debated when building began, I won by a factor of ten. But it will take at least another 100 year for it to be finished!

This will eventually be the side and the highest
tower will be at least half the size again of these

While walking home we stopped by another of Gaudis works Casa Batlló,
although this picture does it no justice.
After our day of shopping and sightseeing we headed out for tapas and a few drinks at a local bar.

Saturday was fairly lazy before we headed out for Uyen's birthday dinner and then on to a bar overlooking the city, followed dancing. a fantastic night.

Sunday was a day of rest, on the beach. The weather was (again) perfect and the water refreshingly cold. That evening Uyen cooked up a delicious feast for those who hadn't yet flown back to London.

On Monday Uyen and I went back to the beach for a few hours, before some last minute shopping and more tapas. I had planned to wander around the Barrie Gothic quarter and take photos, but didn't find the time.

It was sad to leave Barcelona, especially with the weather that greeted us in London.

I was so happy to see Blue sky I kept taking photos of it.

Hi Marcelle

Somehow I think parts of Barcelona have changed since I was there in 1992, and then there a parts that will never change. With a bit of luck I will go back there next year.

Take care
