I was lucky enough to be sitting next to a heavy smoker who was a little too large for his seat. His arm kept turning on my overhead light, changing my channel and the volume, he also wanted my tea after dinner..... at least he didnt snore!
Upon arriving in Bangkok I was quickly reminded of two things, 30 degrees at 11pm is quite common and driving in Thailand can be a little like a ride at an amusement park, lanes mean nothing, indicating is for smuks and driving on the wrong side of the road is ok as long as there is a slim chance you can overtake 6 cars before you hit the oncoming traffic....
Heading off to Hanoi tomorrow, Uyen just informed me she will be arriving earlier the same day so Ill be seeing her a few days earlier than expected. Very happy! This has the added benefit of being picked up from the airport and having a bed to sleep in!
And very excitingly (!!) I had my first real thai meal in just over two year today, it was soo good, even made my lips burn! I know there are those who might suggest there is real thai food to be had in Australia, but.... not the whole experience.... playing roulette pointing out two dishes from the numerous pots, having only a slight idea of what you are about to eat, sitting down to a plastic covered tables and eating while the owners watch seeing if it will be too hot for you. Lots of fun!
Thats making me hungry so I might go try my luck again!
