Island home

A little over a week ago I returned to Samui to help Dennis celebrate his birthday. I was greeted with open arms and a full glass. It is wonderful to be back.Big Buddha is still shining from the rooftopAnd the food is amazing as always. I have been to both my favourite restaurants now. This one was the first. It was so spicy and so delicious.
I met up with John, an Irish mate and his fiancee, Liz. They were thankful I brought Sydney's weather with me. It rained the week before I arrived, but basically stopped the moment I arrived at Dennis' house. We spent an afternoon on Choeng Mon beach, followed by a massage, dinner at Ark bar, then on to Christy's for a cabaret show. Sweet Soul cafe followed Christy's which is where I finally met up with Pan. I was soo excited to see her. Kai had been in London but was also home. I didn't see Bia, I'm told she is going to England, to have a baby. She is just a baby herself, but as long as she is happy.
John, Liz and I had a quiet night the following one, the King's sister died - back in January - and it was her funeral so all the clubs were closed. I think they were still exhausted from the night before and they were leaving the following day.

The next day we took Dennis' little boat over to Koh Phangan, it seems Scott has decided to set up a weekender over there. We didn't stay at his place, but at another friend's villa. Really stunning place. 4 bedrooms in two villas, with our own pool. Well it was really my pool as the guys weren't interested in swimming.

Beer and a swim for breakfast
Very relaxingIt was beautifully designed.
This stray puppy was so cute. I wanted to take him home, but I didn't think Dennis would be too happy about that. After two nights on Koh Phangan we headed back to Samui. Dennis had only stayed one night so we had to catch the ferry back. Slumming it! We all agreed a quiet night was in order. But when Dennis called me up we headed out to Mikes for pizza. I was very impressed when we left at 9am, Mike wasn't drinking.... Dennis decided we should take in another cabaret show, it had just opened up and was great. Then we headed to Green Mango... and then... well I'm not really sure... I lost Dennis at some point so grabbed a taxi home. Dennis returned at 7am in a different car to the one we left in... it was one of those nights.

The following day we headed back to Koh Phangan, someone wanted to do a photo shoot out there... girls... bikinis... beer.... sure why not? Thankfully that was just a day trip. Upon arriving back on Samui we headed out to the Mangrove for dinner, then Ohm and I caught another show at Christy's before a little dancing at Sweet Soul Cafe.

The following day I decided it was time for a little R&R. It had been an exhausting week. Pan suggested I visit her spa for a little pampering. And pampering it was, three hours of steam rooms, spa baths, body scrubs, massages and a facial. I have never had anything quite like it. And Pan gave it to me as a present! Amazing. Pan and I then met up with Dee for a 99 BBQ. It is Dee's favourite place to eat. It was lovely to have such a quiet night!

And I think my little ice cream diet must have worked a treat as every Thai and Burmese I know has told me I have lost a lot of weight. Either that or they just think I'm really fat normally....
