Ok so it’s been a while…. Upon returning from Khanom were started preparing for Choco imminent departure. There was lots of shopping to be done and even more drinking. Also my gorgeous Sister-in-law and her girlfriend Kath arrived in Samui adding to the celebratory mood. It was a week of “lasts” (for Choco not for me) – last dance at Mango, last swim at Colin’s, last meal at Mikes (;-p), last Sunset on Dennis’ balcony and last meal at Mangrove.
We had a last night out at Green Mango with Pan, Bia, Kai and their boys. It was a fun night but was marred by two fights, the first I have seem at Mango. First one a big bawled drunk guy head butted another drunk guy. I didn’t see actually see the second fight just a farang guy stumbling out of the bar with blood dripping down his face and a Thai bouncer appearing a little later with a pool que and a very sever look. Other highlights of the night included Yoko coming over and giving me a hug while two farang girls sitting near us looked on in absolute astonishment at being in such close proximity to a lady-boy, (I don’t think they realised just how many there were right in front of their eyes its just Yoko is a little more obvious. Choco and I often played the game of spot the drunk farang thinking all his dreams had come true – not realising the gorgeous creature on his arm was not all women!!) and being offered at three some by an attractive but crazy farang girl who had just left her fiancé at the alter…. This still doesn’t beat a lady-boy wanting to take me home another night – really don’t understand that one.
Going to interrupt this post to go to the beach……
Since Choco left I had been to the beach a few times, catching up on some reading. I had a lovely day at
The night before our fishing trip we had been out for dinner followed by drinks at Q Bar. Colin, Bri, another friend and myself. I have been out with Bri before and she really likes to play up. As I have said to her, you can always tell a lady-boy as they are always done up really well compared to other girls. Anyway Bri had on tiny shorts and bright red knee high boots and was having a great dance. This was pretty normal, what I hadn’t noticed before is the reaction from some of the farang women – obviously tourists as they spent the entire night staring at Bri with open jaws. I felt like asking them if they would like an introduction. It would have been incredibly rude except that Bri absolutely loves the attention!
So what else has been happening??? I went to the opening of a friends Salon – which started at 9am and finished late in the evening, I had no idea it would go that long and unfortunately I had dinner plans…. But it was lots of fun, we were cooked breakfast in the morning, green curry. Most of the Thais – well they were all Thai but those that I didn’t know me were very concerned that the curry would be too hot for me…. fat chance! A fun day.
Didn’t do anything for Easter – didn’t really notice it was Easter. But this coming weekend is Songkran – Thai New Year – Really looking forward to that!
