I arrived back and thankfully found my room still locked and all my belongings present. I guess people go missing for a night or two on Koh Phangan all the time as they werent concerned about it at all. It was the full moon that night but because it fell on a religous holiday it was postponed. Jak, the good Buddahist, closed to bar for the holiday so I had a very quiet night.
I found out the religous holiday went for two days so instead of another quiet night in Had Rin - they werent meant to be selling alcohol - had too all be served in coffee cups! I decided to head back to Samui and catch up with the guys there. At this point I realised a cut of my foot from my swin through the coral was infected.... got some really strong antibiotoics from the chemist - got to love being able to get anything you want over the counter!
The following day I found out my thesis had been accepted!!!! The guy on Samui were all going to be working late so I decided to go back to Koh Phangan for the full moon party. I was told not to because of my foot, but I had to celebrate!

The Fullmoon Party was heaps of fun, I meet up with Sylvester from Had Yao (West), had a little dance, meet some very interesting people and saw some dubious sights... Didnt stay up for the sunrise, my foot was a little too sore by then.
Decided I wanted to get out of Had Rin after the Party, so I pack my bags and headed back to Koh Samui - started wondering if the ferry company had a discounted price for frequent travellers......
I moved back into Ohms house - he was so kind. I spent the rest of the week eating, drinking and relaxing on the beach. On Saturday night Dennis and I went out to dinner at The Mangrove - the French chef had two Michelin stars back home! Had a lovely meal with Tony, Maria and Scott, then Dennis and I invited everyone back to Tony and Marias for a midnight swim. They have an amazing house up a hill overlooking the gorgeous beach of Bo Phut. They have a 3 bedroom apartment with a maids quarters downstairs, a rooftop terrace and an infinity pool overlooking Bo Phut. Gorgeous. I had a wonderful time swimming while everyone else lounged around drinking. We finally decided to leave and head out to a very dubious bar called SoLo. ITs open when everywhere else closes. The bar has a pool but luckily I didnt feel like swimming, Ive since been told people end up in hospital after swimming in it.
Sunday on Samui with Dennis - lunch at the Pub (formally called Steves in the Pub - by his wife) for Sunday Roast - not something that was a part of my childhood, but lots of expats here love it. Spend a few hours there then move to the next place - a pool party, the mangrove for a drink... somewhere, anywhere, but then its up to the Jungle Club. It really is great up there, beautiful view, stunning sunset, plenty of drinks, great food, fabulous company and the staff are very accommodating although maybe a little too friendly. Oh and they have a wonderful infinity pool overlooking Chaweng beach. Whenever I go missing everyone knows I can be found in the pool, no matter what time of night. Its wonderful to float around on my back looking up at the coconut trees silouetted against the black sky. After the Jungle Club its either home - it is Sunday - or sometimes on the the next watering hole.... Out of Africa (a lovely African restaurant - the owner has just hold me he is giving his girlfriend the flick and then its all on for the two of us..... didnt ever remember saying I was interested!), SoLo or someones house....
Monday night tends to be a quiet one!
