I never have enough time these days therefore I am resorting to point form.
1. Farewelled Brett (he headed off to snowboard in Whistler, and work if/when he finds the time)
- 24 yo country bumpkin told me I would still look attractive if I wore more!
- ended up at the Casino at 6 am with a wiggle of the yellow persuasion, turns out he grew up over the hill from me.
2. Farewelled Dave (he is headed for Chicago mainly for work)
- The trip down to Melbourne was very eventful
a) I ran out of petrol, but managed to stop just across the road from a service station.
b) very shortly after I resumed my journey I noticed the car wasn't traveling smoothly so pulled over to the smell of burning rubber. I must have punctured my tyre when I initially pulled over after running out of petrol. This completely killed my tyre. I was about to change it when the RACV (roadside assistance) pulled in behind me and kindly (and speedily) did it for me.
I considered buying a lottery ticket.
- Out for drinks in Melbourne a girl came up told me that her friend liked me. A mate of Dave's kindly (played the part and) told her I was his wife and to bugger off. Later one of the girls with us asked why I didn't even look to see what I thought of him.... it just reminded me of primary school....
3. I'm now back at the vineyard. I spent the morning collecting samples of various grape varieties. I then had to do some work in the lab to determine the Beaume, which indicates sugar and therefore potential alcohol levels and this was as close to doing an experiment as I have been in years.
