After finishing my PhD I decided that I wouldn't work a permanent full time job before I was 30. And I have been incredibly fortunate that for the last 18 months I have spent my time traveling, socializing, and generally having a fantastic time. But now that I have reached this goal I am contemplating work. In fact I have come up with a plan of attack to actually get a job.
And for getting so far along in my search for a job I have decided to reward myself with a holiday! Yah! A little birthday present for myself... so I now find myself in Gosia's living room in London!
But before I arrived here I had a very hectic two week, I bottled Dads wine in Canberra (I was hoping it would be the red but it was the white), turned 30, organised a picnic to celebrate my birthday and imminent departure and last minute did all the things I had been meaning to do since I got to Sydney 5 months earlier.... I always felt busy while in Australia although Im not really sure what I did....
The picnic was fairly stressful, I wanted to go to the Botanical garden on Sydney Harbour, and for the first 3 week I was checking the weather forecast it was always going to be fine and sunny, then in the last week the forcast changed to be showers, this ranged from in the evening - fine Id be at the bar by then, to all day - not good, to in the morning - also potentially bad. On the morning in question, the rain held off, but the wind was ferocious. A few friends rang to confirm I was going ahead even though the weather was shocking, being stubborn I said yes. Amazing as everyone arrived the wind abated, the clouds parted and the sky was as blue as it ever was. It was a gorgeous Sydney day! After the picnic we headed out to continue celebrating, drinking the night away, it was a fabulous day and Im very grateful to everyone who was able to make it.
And now Im hear in London to continue the celebration...
If you look closely you can see the chilli brownies being cut, this was much anticipated and didnt disappoint!
As I said a beautiful Sydney day
There were lovely spring flowers out too....
